Problem-solving and responsibility are the two key soft-skills which I am consistently developing in my role at PathMotion.
Problem-solving in a start-up is key, as a company grows and continues to innovate you come across a lot of obstacles. It is part of everybody in the company's job to find ways of moving past these obstacles or finding a new path.
As a start-up, we receive a lot of responsibility early on but also a lot of mentorship. For instance, within 2 months my role moved from event management to taking responsibility for more projects, and the management of two interns. I am now responsible for the efforts of the whole marketing team - it is scary, but also so exciting and challenging. I have developed my skillset in 3 months faster than I have done in my entire 3 years within the workplace. However, you are not left alone! I have regular check ins with the cofounders and the heads of other teams. I am the person who will always ask questions if I don't know and these questions are never be left unanswered.
