How do you ensure that people all the way through the organisation believe in the company's culture and live this out?

Especially during the pandemic, when you are working remotely and movement is quite limited. How do you monitor and check if everyone's belief and culture is aligning?

Hi Dua,
Thanks for the great question.
A big piece happens already during the interview process where we pay particular attention to the culture/values of candidates and ensure they fit with PathMotion’s. This is why we ensure candidates get to speak to several people in the team and we come to a consensus beyond skills on whether we feel the candidate will fit culturally. This is critical to ensure people stay over the long run with us and develop a sense of belonging over time.
We then try to ensure values are lived through and form part of people’s assessment and bring it to live in numerous ways including by appointing Culture Officers across each office on a rotating basis. They have an assigned budget to invest in initiatives and have the remit to come with creative ideas. We also recognise employees who have lived the values during our bi-yearly get together with concrete examples of how they brought it to live.
During Covid we have numerous ways to keep the culture alive including by having remote meetings (both professional and non-professional) including with company meetings and regular team meetings across locations. We are for instance organising a remote cooking class for everyone with a chef and ingredients delivered at everyone’s place. More importantly if you have a strong culture in the first place people will live it irrespective of circumstances, some of the values are even emphasised working remotely such as people collaborating on projects and keeping connected, some employees just taking time to call a colleague and see how he/she feels and offer moral support if their circumstances are complicated.
Hope this makes sense but let us know if you have follow-up questions.
Cheers,
David
