Hello, in the first few years we had to make sure there was a true market fit for our product. This required one significant pivot to the product and then a series of tweaks. Once this was achieved, we started seeing very significant growth rates year on year.

The second hurdle then for further acceleration of growth was funding. We were fortunate to achieve profitability a few years ago, but it also means we had to have a very managed growth rate, e.g. not spending more than we earned. It is in order to accelerate at this point that we decided to raise funding end of 2017, which allowed us to sustain the same growth rates as we enjoyed in previous years.

Thinking about it, I think our experience is likely to be fairly typical for a SaaS company.
