Hi Aurélie ! Very good question, as sometimes, "startup people" just look for coolness :)

I was looking for :
- a B2B tech firm
- a young company < 10 years, if possible who just had raised funds
- an inspiring team (founders but also coworkers) : humble + ambitious people ! (cc : Alexandre G. )
- happy customers

+ this article from a french angel helped me a lot in my decision goo.gl/nwb4Lv

I hope this helps !

Thanks a lot Francois for your quick feedback! If I may add, what are for you the biggest advantages but also drawbacks of working for a startup company?

Hi Aurelie,

I'd be more than happy to provide you an answer from another PathMotion employee!

I personally chose PathMotion because the company provides an innovative solution with almost no competitor (or few). Also, the location of the job was very attractive (I'm a London based French) and would let me work in an international environment. For me, there was no better job offer which answered to my needs.

Last but not least, what convinced me was the team. I was kindly invited to come and see the London office team during the recruitment process (the team I'd work with) while I was in Paris, as well as the Paris office team afterwards. They had 2 things in common: passion and expertise. Also, knowing that I'd work closely with awesome Co-Founders was highly motivating. Naturally, with these information in mind, you just wanna be part of the adventure and leave your own footprint too in the organisation that will be the market leader.

To answer to your second question, advantages and drawbacks, these are actually part of the reasons I joined PathMotion too. The biggest advantages of working in a startup company is that you manage your own project from the beginning to the end. You have quite the liberty over it but you still have the Co-Founders to back you up. Personally, my team is US based and it's really interesting to learn new processes or methodologies to reach out to prospects. For a bit more context about my job, I cover the EU market and even beyond, except North America. This is a unique project I wouldn't have had the opportunity to manage in another company, especially in a multinational. As mentioned in my profile, I quickly make the difference by setting up meetings and this is really satisfying. In top of that, we are a small team but I see that as an advantage to create synergies: I often exchange with my colleagues in marketing, finance, product/dev and client success to better understand the clients/features and improve the ways I get in touch with companies.

Regarding the drawbacks, I'd say that it's the workload. But to be honest, that's also something that makes my daily job really challenging and time goes really fast that way (I never see the day passing). You never get bored at PathMotion :)

Hope that answered to your questions!

Best,

Olivier
