What's the biggest challenge that you face in your role and how do you overcome it?

In the Product team our biggest challenge is prioritising the right area to focus on. There's lots we could be working on from new products to product improvements in addition to all the unseen elements which support the product. We are a small team so we can't do everything. So we need to be very disciplined about what we do work on.

We do this by working a lot with other stakeholders. We get the priorities and goals from other internal teams, our clients and our candidates. We try and include as many people as possible in this prioritisation process so we know we are working on the right thing.

And then before committing to a specific direction we try to reduce the risks of backing the wrong project. We do this by doing experiments, testing, and getting even more feedback. By this point we then have a far better view that we are focused on the right thing, and doing it in a successful way.
