That’s a really good question. First you must know that I come from a sales background, and had the chance to work in several industries, from startups to big structures. That being said, I’ve noticed two things:
1. I feel better in a smaller structure (transparent communication, quick execution, small team) than in a big group (lots of processes, reports, top/down management).
2. As a passionate sales, it is very important for me to see that my companies activity is having a major impact on the market. I think it is also a bit generational, as our young and ambitious generation wants to change things and leave something good behind. I never wanted to do sales "just" to contribute to the growth of my company, but because my product is useful and has a deeper meaning than just a turnover at the end of the year.
Now, don't get me wrong, I loved all my past experiences and always felt really lucky in my journey. Sometimes, leaving a place doesn't mean it was bad, it just means another place could fit you better. When I met PathMotion for the first time, I had a huge crush on the product and literally had stars in my eyes. I remember saying to myself : "this is genius, why have I never heard about it before?". Then, I met one person after another from the company and felt a lot of good vibes, positive energy and first and foremost, passion. The day I met David (our co-founder) it all made sense, and I knew this is a place I definitely belong to.
Unfortunately, the happy ending had to wait. Due to bad timing and as the company was merging with the Page Up Group in Australia, I could not join the company at that time. The story became crazy when I took a position in another company in the meantime, and started a new journey over there. Somehow, I knew my crush for PathMotion was real and would not fade away even months after. One day, the company was ready to open my position, all the lights were green, and they gave me time until I was also ready on my side. And now, here I am, telling you my story as an insider!
Long story short, I think this was meant to be and sometimes when you know, YOU KNOW. PathMotion could fit all my expectations in terms of product, team, structure, management and international perspectives. I never really had to think what motivated me to join PathMotion, but my question was more why would I not want to join PathMotion?!
